3. Review work from last week:
After each presentation, write down a note about what you learned in the presentation. What main idea was covered in the presentation?
After presentations:
On your notes, write a response to the research project:
- What did you learn from the presentations? (This may already be reflected in your notes)
- What did you learn about researching as a part of this project?
- What questions do you still have about the culture and time period of the Southern United States in the 1930s?
4. Journal #27 11/30/09: What specific connections have you made between our culture presentations and your reading? You might explore how characters influenced by the Great Depression. There are several connections to make at this point in the novel.
5. Vocabulary review.
A major part of our study of To Kill a Mockingbird, has included vocabulary study. Based on vocabulary words you’ve found in your reading, as well as words previously selected for your study, you have a list of 25 words that you need to study. Define the terms using your own definition and practice using the word in a sentence. These terms will be on your To Kill a Mockingbird test. Begin working on your vocabulary review.
**Vocabulary bookmark #2: due date misprint last week with a date and weekday misprint. Turn in bookmarks no later than tomorrow for full credit.
6. Review Chapters 11 and 12. In table groups, develop 3 strong questions each over the reading.
Why did Atticus call Mrs. Dubose courageous? What happened at Calpurnia’s church? Also include your response to these chapters. What would you do in their situation, etc.
Homework:
1. Read To Kill a Mockingbird follow the reading schedule. Complete Chapters 13 and 14 for tomorrow. Quiz over Part 1 of To Kill a Mockingbird on Tuesday.
2. To Kill a Mockingbird character review list due Friday, December 11. No late assignments will be accepted as we will review characters in class that day!
3. Motif response for To Kill a Mockingbird due Wednesday, December 9
4. Vocabulary Review due Thursday, December 10. No late assignments will be accepted, as we will be reviewing the vocabulary in class that day.
