1. Review historical narratives

2. Puritan notes and discussion

3. Discuss the contrast between Native American Literature and Puritan literature

4. In table groups discuss whether you agree or disagree with the statement, “Human beings are inherently evil and so must struggle to overcome their sinful nature.”  Explain to each other why you agree or disagree with this statement.  Write out the basic arguments and ideas of your group. Share with the class and turn in one response per table group.

5. Discuss facts about Puritans. How many of these values still hold true for us?

6. Read Bradstreet (96) and Taylor (94). Discuss reading questions.

7. Read “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”

8. Prepare for discussion on Monday

  1. Essay test on Native American Literature: Tuesday, November 9
  2. Complete work from class.  Prepare for discussion over “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” on Monday!!
