  1. Finalize your group presentations.
  2. Share your Worst-case Scenarios
  3. Discuss “The Sniper”
  4. Journal #17 10/28/09: Does social equality exist?  If so, where and how?  If not, why not?  What sacrifices are worth social equality?  Why?
  5. Read “Harrison Bergeron” and discuss. Pay specific attention to the role of social equality in the story.

Homework:

1. Independent Reading Project:

a. Book talk: Friday, October 30 (3/4 of your book should be read by this date)

b. Project due: Tuesday, November 3

2. Marking period late work deadline: Friday, October 30

3. Read “Harrison Bergeron” and discuss. Pay specific attention to the role of social equality in the story.

4. Short stories test covering stories and literary elements, as well as a short essay and reading a new story will be on Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5
